Mado Verification Standards
Why data accuracy is Mado’s most vital pillar. We outline the rigorous vetting process every destination guide and business profile undergoes.
Our Core Verification Philosophy
In developing destinations, travel information is frequently either out of date or artificially inflated by sponsored marketing. At Mado, no business can pay to receive a "Verified" badge. Verification must be earned through documented evidence of licensing, safety equipment, insurance coverage, and demonstrated fair compensation for local scouts and staff.
The 4 Verification Tiers
The highest tier of verification. Data has been cross-examined with official government or regional tourism bureaus, and businesses have submitted certified business registrations, tax IDs, and valid commercial tourism licenses.
Agencies, lodges, and guides whose credentials, safety protocols, and traveler reviews have been directly audited by the Mado editorial team.
Submitted listings that are currently undergoing logistical verification, license verification, or safety audit before full endorsement.
Field notes and logistical updates submitted by travelers or local guides that provide helpful context but await full official cross-referencing.
